John Helliwell - Join the "Happiness Expert" on February 28

There are few universal pursuits in life, but if you were to name one it might just be the pursuit of happiness. As the Dalai Lama says, "The purpose of our lives is to be happy." Yet unhappiness is prevalent throughout the world and for many there is a great mystery surrounding what causes this unhappiness.

Dr. John Helliwell, the "happiness expert", wants to unravel this mystery. He is one of the leading minds investigating what it is exactly that makes us happy and he's uncovered constructive ways to use this knowledge to improve our quality of life. He's joining the Dalai Lama Center in Vancouver for a special Speakers Series event on February 28 to share his work.

It will be a unique opportunity to hear from the man who says that money can buy you happiness – as long as you spend it on somebody else. He'll also share some important ideas about how community plays a critical role in making us happy. Dr. Helliwell offers real-life examples of people making simple changes that lead to greater happiness.

What's more is that his work – although revealed by a gifted storyteller – is grounded in the latest scientific research. Just a few key changes in our day-to-day lives can significantly raise our levels of dopamine, or the "happy hormone".

Dr. Helliwell wants you to know that "universal happiness" is possible. And if you don't believe him, then maybe you'll believe the science.

So come join us for a night of dialogue. Discover what you can do right now to add more happiness to your life. And if you're already happy? Come out on February 28 and tell us your secret!
