DLC Welcomes Terry Wong and Ted Lau to Board of Trustees

March 11, 2015, Vancouver: The Dalai Lama Center is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to our Board of Trustees. Terry Wong from VanCity brings a strong financial background to the Board, and his work at VanCity contributes to social profit initiatives throughout Metro Vancouver. We are also pleased to welcome Ted Lau, co-founder and CEO of the Ballistic Arts Asylum, which is well known locally for its marketing and web work. 

The Dalai Lama Center would also like to extend our gratitute and thanks to outgoing Trustees, Martha Piper and Jim Hoggan, both of whom have made immense contributions to the Center's work over the last several years. We wish them both the best! 

Terry Wong, CFA, is Vice President, Treasury at VanCity Savings Credit Union. He holds a BBA in Finance and Economics, which he completed at Simon Fraser University. Since 2014, he has worked on the Dalai Lama Center's Finance and Audit Committee, and joined the Board of Trustees in 2015. In his community work, Terry works for economic empowerment, especially through the education of children.

Ted Lau completed a communications degree at Simon Fraser University. He is co-founder and CEO of the Ballistic Arts Asylum, one of Metro Vancouver's most respected web marketing companies. His work in the community includes: Membership Chair for EO Accelerator Vancouver; President for the Federal Liberal New West-Coquitlam EDA; Founding Member of the Next Leaders Council (BC Business Council) and; Board Director at the Douglas College Foundation.
