Dear Friends of the Dalai Lama Center for Peace + Education,

We are still basking in the glow of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama’s visit to Vancouver in October. If you were unable to attend the Dalai Lama’s visit, you can still be a part of the energy and momentum:
  • Sign up for the Heart-Mind Challenge and promote Heart-Mind well being through fun activities with your friends, family and co-workers. It’s happening now and until the winter break. Sign up here
  • Stay tuned! Over the next few weeks, we will be releasing video and photos of special moments that occurred during the Dalai Lama’s visit on our websites, Facebook and Twitter.

The unique events with the Dalai Lama helped to significantly raise the profile of the Center’s work, engage His Holiness in the progress being made in British Columbia, and continue our ongoing dialogue on “Educating the Hearts of Children” that began in Vancouver in 2005.

His Holiness’s 2014 Vancouver visit spanned three days and was attended by over 4500 guests at four different events:
  • Heart-Mind Youth Dialogue took place at John Oliver Secondary School and featured youth panelists, moderator and MCs, and an intimate visit by the Dalai Lama to the Learning Commons classrooms
  • Be The Village: Heart-Mind Summit at Vancouver Trade and Convention Center, with 5 panelists from many sectors of interest; Business to Educators
  • Educating the Heart in The Early Years: A Dialogue with the Dalai Lama at the Chan Center featuring leading Early Childhood Development researchers from UBC
  • Business Leaders Roundtable, featuring 15 top CEOs from North America discussing the role of business in Heart-Mind well-being in the community
We look forward to keeping you engaged in the Dalai Lama Center’s work, and continuing to build momentum going forward. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for regular updates, information, and interesting posts related to Heart-Mind well being. Together, we can work towards a more compassionate and peaceful world.

Sincere best wishes,
The Dalai Lama Center Team
